B.M.C. – MonoS. Monocrystalline silver cable

The symmetrical PHONO-XLR cables are configured so that both the signal and return conductors each use a monocrystalline silver cable, while the shielding is connected only on the receiver end, i.e., the “male” connector.

Monocrystalline Silver Cable

What exactly is it? At the Chiba Institute of Technology in Japan, a process was developed that allows silver to be cast using a special continuous casting method, forming a single, several hundred-meter-long silver crystal. Traditional multi-crystalline cables have been known for their good sound but also for causing distortions. The reason for this lies in the crystal lengths, which are typically around 1 cm. This means that with just one meter of cable, about 100 crystal transitions must be overcome. Direct, unobstructed signal transmission is therefore impossible. Additionally, corrosion occurs over time at these transitions, leading to further sound degradation.

With monocrystalline cables, it’s different. Manufactured as a single piece, they have no internal resistances that could impact the sound. Transparency increases, allowing music to breathe and unfold spatially in a clear and completely unhindered manner. The price of such cables is justified by the massive material usage and the time-consuming manufacturing process. However, the listening experience more than compensates for this investment – and in a lasting way!
